Călin Georgescu

Imagine someone who used to work with big ideas about keeping our planet healthy. That was Călin Georgescu! He was born a long time ago, in 1962. He studied how to grow plants and take care of the Earth. He even led a special group that thought about the future of our world. But then, he decided to try and become the leader of his country, Romania!

In 2024, Călin Georgescu decided to run for president of Romania. Nobody expected him to do very well at first, maybe getting only 5% of the votes. But guess what?

Lots of people started to like his ideas, and he got way more votes than anyone thought! He ended up getting almost a quarter of all the votes in the first round of the election. That's like winning a big prize in a game you weren't even sure you'd play!

After the election, some grown-ups who check things carefully said that Călin Georgescu's campaign might have used money that wasn't supposed to be used. They also said that computers used in the election might have been messed with by people from another country. Because of these worries, the people in charge decided to cancel the first election results.

It was like hitting the reset button on a video game!

Later, Călin Georgescu was told he couldn't be on TV or radio for a while because of some serious questions. Even though he was still very popular and people liked his ideas, he tried to run for president again in a new election. But this time, the people in charge said he couldn't be a candidate.

So, someone else became the president instead. It shows that even when things seem exciting, there are rules to follow.
