Imagine being one of the very first people to ever step onto the Moon! That’s Buzz Aldrin! He was born a long, long time ago, on January 20, 1930. He’s an astronaut, which means he’s trained to fly in space. He’s also a super smart engineer and used to be a fighter pilot, flying fast jets! He flew on a mission called Apollo 11, and guess what? He was the second person ever to walk on the Moon!

Buzz Aldrin didn't just wake up and go to space. He went to a special school called West Point, where he learned all about machines and how things work. He was so good at school that he graduated near the top of his class!
Then, he became a pilot in the Air Force and flew in exciting missions during the Korean War. He even learned how to fly rockets and spaceships, which is how he got to go on his amazing space adventures.
