Key Facts
Meet the Giant Land!
Buenos Aires Province is like the biggest kid on the playground in Argentina! It's super, super big, and more people live here than in any other part of the country. It used to be part of the famous Buenos Aires city, but now it's its own huge place. Think of it like a giant cookie with lots of yummy chocolate chips – the province is the cookie, and the people are the chips!
Where Does Everyone Live?
Most of the people in Buenos Aires Province live in a super-duper big area called Greater Buenos Aires. It's like a giant neighborhood that surrounds the capital city. The province is mostly flat, like a huge, grassy field called the Pampas. It's so big that it's like having 11% of all of Argentina's land just for this one province!
A Land of Many Neighbors!
Buenos Aires Province has lots of neighbors! To the north and east, it touches other provinces and even the country of Uruguay across a big river called the Rio de la Plata. To the south and west, it stretches out towards the wilder lands of Patagonia. It's also right next to the Atlantic Ocean, where you can see big waves crash on the shore.
The Super Special City of La Plata!
Even though Buenos Aires Province is huge, it has a special capital city called La Plata. It wasn't always there! It was built just for this job in 1882, like building a brand-new, super-organized town. It's the heart of the province, where important decisions are made and where the government works to help everyone in this giant land.
