Bernard Kerik

Imagine being in charge of all the police officers in a super big city like New York! That's what Bernard Kerik did. He became the Police Commissioner, which is like the boss of the police. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1955. He worked hard as a police officer before becoming the big boss. He even helped out after a very sad day in 2001 when the Twin Towers fell.

When the September 11th attacks happened, Bernard Kerik was the Police Commissioner. This means he was in charge of how the police helped everyone. It was a very scary time, and he worked with many brave police officers to keep people safe. He was like a captain guiding his ship through a big storm.
