Berlin State Opera

This amazing opera house is in a city called Berlin, in a country called Germany. It sits on a street with lots of trees called 'Unter den Linden,' which means 'under the lime trees.' Think of it like a special spot in the middle of a busy city, where you can find beautiful buildings and lots of history.

A long, long time ago, a king named Frederick the Great wanted a beautiful place for music and shows. He ordered this opera house to be built between 1741 and 1743. That's even older than your grandparents' grandparents! It was made to look super grand, like a palace, so everyone would be impressed.

During a big war, this beautiful building got hurt by bombs. But people loved it so much, they rebuilt it! From 1951 to 1955, workers carefully fixed it up. Now it's even stronger and ready for more amazing music. It's like a superhero that got a little banged up but came back even better!

This opera house is called the 'Lindenoper' and it has two super cool titles. It's the oldest state opera in the whole world! It was also the very first theater that was built all by itself, standing tall and proud in a city. It’s a true star that shines brightly!
