Astrid's most famous character is probably Pippi Longstocking, a girl who is super strong and lives all by herself with a horse and a monkey! Pippi can lift a horse with one hand and has a suitcase full of gold coins. Astrid also wrote about Karlsson-on-the-Roof, a little man who flies with a propeller on his back, and Emil of Lönneberga, a mischievous boy who always got into trouble but had a good heart.
