The Day President Kennedy Was Shot

President John F. Kennedy was riding in a special car with his wife, Jacqueline, on a beautiful day in Dallas, Texas. It was November 22, 1963. People were waving and cheering for him! But suddenly, something very sad and scary happened. Shots were fired, and the president was hurt. It was a moment that made many people feel very sad.

The president's car quickly drove to a hospital called Parkland Memorial. Doctors tried their very best to help him, but sadly, President Kennedy passed away. It was a big shock to everyone. The person who shot the president was named Lee Harvey Oswald. He was caught later that day. It was a very confusing and upsetting time for the whole country.

President Kennedy was like the captain of a big ship, the United States. He was known for being inspiring and for wanting to make the country a better place. He was the 35th president.
