Asian Americans are people living in the United States whose families originally came from these places. They are a big and growing part of America, making up about 6.5% of everyone here. That's like having a classroom full of friends where about 6 of them are Asian American!
A Long Journey to America
People from Asia have been coming to America for a very long time, even before your grandparents were born! But it wasn't always easy. For a while, laws made it hard for many people from Asia to move here. Later, things changed, and more people were able to come, bringing their unique cultures and traditions with them.

Asian Americans bring so many wonderful things to the United States! Think about delicious foods like sushi or curry, exciting festivals with colorful decorations, and amazing stories.
