Abundant Life Christian School
Key Facts
Welcome to Our Big School Family!
Abundant Life Christian School, or ALCS for short, is a special school in a city called Madison, Wisconsin. It's a private school, which means it's not run by the government, but by people who believe in its special way of teaching. Think of it like a big, happy family where everyone learns together and cares about each other.
It's one of the biggest Christian schools in the area, meaning it teaches about faith and kindness.
How Did ALCS Get Started?
A long, long time ago, in 1978, a church called Lake City Church decided to start a school. The pastor, Warren Heckman, had a big idea to create a school for the whole community. They wanted it to be a place where kids from many different churches could come and learn together. It's like inviting all your friends over for a playdate, no matter which playground they usually go to!
A School That's Like a Giant Playground!
ALCS is a K3โ12 school, which means it has classes for the tiniest preschoolers (K3) all the way up to high schoolers! The school campus is super big, about 28 acres. That's like having 28 football fields all to yourself!
It shares this huge space with a church called City Church. Even though it's one big campus, the students come from over 50 different churches and lots of different neighborhoods.
Friends Forever: ALCS and High Point!
Did you know that in 2011, ALCS joined up with another school called High Point Christian School? Together, they became one big school called Madison Christian Schools. They still have two different places to learn, but now they work as one team. It's like when your favorite toy sets get combined to make even more amazing creations!
