Aïr Mountains

The Aïr Mountains are like a giant playground made of rocks in the middle of a HUGE desert called the Sahara. It's in a country called Niger, in Africa. These mountains are super old, like older than your grandparents' grandparents!

They have pointy peaks that reach way up into the sky, and some are even taller than a skyscraper! It's a very dry and hot place, so not many trees grow there, but you can find amazing rocks and cool shapes.

Even though it's a desert, people do live in the Aïr Mountains! They are called the Tuareg people, and they are famous for wearing blue clothes, which is why they are sometimes called the 'Blue People'. They are very good at living in the desert and know how to find water and food.

They often move around with their camels and goats, looking for the best places to live. They have lived here for a very, very long time.
