Where is Maharashtra?

Maharashtra is a super big state in India, like a giant puzzle piece on the west side of the country. It has long, sandy beaches along the Arabian Sea, and inland, you'll find tall mountains and wide, flat plains. The weather can be hot and sunny, perfect for playing outside, but sometimes it rains a lot during the monsoon season. It's a place with lots of different kinds of nature to explore!

A Big Vote for Big Decisions!

In 2024, people in Maharashtra got to vote for who they wanted to represent them in the Lok Sabha, which is like the main meeting room for making country-wide rules. This election happened over many days, from April to May, so everyone had a chance to cast their vote. It’s like choosing your favorite playground supervisor, but for grown-ups and for important jobs!

Lots and Lots of People!

Maharashtra is home to a HUGE number of people, more than you can imagine! Think of filling up every school in the world – that’s how many people live here. When it was time to vote, all these people, big and small (well, grown-ups!), got to have their say. It’s a really important way for everyone to be heard.

Choosing Leaders for the Country

The votes from Maharashtra helped decide who would be in the Lok Sabha, the big government house in India. There were 48 spots to fill, meaning 48 people from Maharashtra were chosen to go and make decisions for everyone. The results were announced on June 4th, like getting your report card, but for the whole state!
