The Day a Big Boom Happened in Pulwama

On February 14, 2019, a routine movement of a large convoy of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel along the vital Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Pulwama district was violently interrupted. A suicide bomber, identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, a local Kashmiri youth from the Pulwama district, detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) packed with an estimated 350 kilograms of explosives. The sheer force of the blast was catastrophic, obliterating several buses and causing immense destruction.

This attack resulted in the tragic loss of 40 CRPF personnel, marking one of the deadliest attacks on Indian security forces in decades. The scale of the explosion was so immense that it was comparable to a small bomb, causing widespread devastation and immediate shockwaves across the region and internationally.
