Baseball's Biggest Championship!

Imagine the biggest baseball game ever, where two amazing teams battle it out to see who is the best! That's the World Series! In 1926, it was a super exciting fight between the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees. These teams played their hearts out in a best-of-seven series, meaning the first team to win four games would be the champions. It was a nail-biter from start to finish!

Meet the Amazing Players!

The St. Louis Cardinals were playing in their very first World Series, which is like a dream come true! The New York Yankees, however, were already baseball superstars. They had played in the World Series before and had a player named Babe Ruth, who was like a superhero of baseball! He could hit home runs that flew super far, sometimes as high as a tall building!

A Game of Surprises!

In one game, Babe Ruth hit THREE home runs! That's like scoring three touchdowns in one football game! People say he promised to do it for a sick boy, and after the game, the boy got better. The Cardinals also had a great pitcher named Grover Cleveland Alexander. He was so good that he helped the Cardinals win the last two games, making them champions!

The Big Win!

The final game was so close! The Yankees were almost going to win, but then Babe Ruth got caught trying to steal a base. This means he tried to run to the next base but the other team got him out. It was the very last out of the game and the series! The St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series for the first time ever, making everyone in St. Louis cheer!
