World Wide Fund for Nature

The World Wide Fund for Nature, or WWF, is like a global team of nature superheroes! They started in 1961 to help protect wild animals and keep our planet healthy. Think of them as guardians of forests, oceans, and all the creatures living there. They work in over 100 countries, which is more places than you can count on your fingers and toes many times over!

A long time ago, people noticed that some animals were disappearing. So, a group of clever people decided to create WWF to help. It was first called the World Wildlife Fund. Now, it's one of the biggest groups in the whole world that helps nature. They have millions of helpers, like you and me, who want to make sure animals have safe homes.

WWF helps because our planet is like a giant, beautiful home for everyone – people, animals, and plants. They want to make sure we don't hurt nature too much. They help animals like pandas and tigers, and they also work to keep our air clean and our water fresh. It’s like making sure your own house is tidy and safe for everyone!

WWF does lots of cool things! They have a special event called Earth Hour where people turn off their lights for an hour to save energy. They also help protect forests, make sure oceans are healthy, and teach us how to live in a way that’s kind to nature. They even have a report called the Living Planet Report to see how nature is doing.
