Westlake, Los Angeles

Westlake is a neighborhood tucked away in the middle of a super big city called Los Angeles, in California. It's not a whole city by itself, but a special part of Los Angeles. Think of it like your classroom is a part of your whole school. It's a place where lots of people live and work, and it's known for being pretty busy!

A long, long time ago, in the 1920s, Westlake was built with beautiful, big houses that looked like mansions! But over the years, many of those fancy houses were changed into apartments where many families can live. New buildings with lots of homes have also been built. So, it's a place that has changed a lot, but still has a special feel.

Westlake is a place where many people live close together. Most of the people who live here are young, and many of them come from Latino families. Because there are so many families, there are also lots of schools! You can find many places for kids to learn, from little kids in kindergarten all the way up to teenagers in high school.

Life in Westlake is busy! It's a place with many buildings close together, which means lots of people are around. People here speak many different languages, but Spanish is very common. It's a neighborhood that is always buzzing with activity, from people going to work to kids playing and going to school.
