Weasel Wonders!

Weasels are small, slinky mammals that are built for speed! They have long, skinny bodies and short legs, which helps them wiggle into tiny spaces to catch their dinner. Imagine a furry Slinky – that’s a bit like a weasel! They are super curious and love to explore their homes. Their fur can change color too, sometimes turning white in the winter to hide in the snow!

Weasels are found all over the world, from chilly forests to grassy fields and even near farms. They like places with lots of hiding spots, like under bushes or in old logs. You can find them in North America, Europe, Asia, and even some parts of South America. They build cozy nests for themselves, often using old burrows dug by other animals.

Weasels are super hunters! They are carnivores, which means they only eat meat. Their favorite foods are small animals like mice, voles, and even birds and their eggs. They are so fast and sneaky that they can catch prey much bigger than themselves! They use their sharp teeth and quick movements to catch their meals.

Weasels have incredible senses. They can smell their prey from far away and hear tiny rustles in the grass. Their bodies are so flexible they can twist and turn to chase animals through tight tunnels. A WOW fact is that some weasels, like the stoat, turn completely white in winter to blend in with the snow, like a furry ghost!
