Waste container

Imagine a special box or bin that's made just for holding things we don't need anymore, like apple cores or crumpled drawings. These are called waste containers! They can be made of shiny metal or colorful plastic.

You might have one in your classroom for paper scraps, or a bigger one outside your house for all your family's trash. They come in all shapes and sizes, ready to gobble up the things we want to throw away.

Long, long ago, people didn't have special bins for their trash. They might have just put rubbish in a pile! But as towns grew bigger, people realized they needed a better way to keep things tidy.

So, they started using simple containers, like baskets, to collect waste. Over time, these baskets got stronger, made of metal or wood, and eventually, the bins we know today, made of plastic and metal, were invented to help keep our neighborhoods clean and neat.

You see waste containers everywhere! There are small ones on your desk for pencil shavings, medium-sized ones in your kitchen for food scraps, and super-duper big ones on the street that garbage trucks empty. Some bins are even special, like recycling bins for paper, plastic, and glass, so those materials can be made into new things!

Each bin has a job to do to help keep our world tidy and clean for everyone.
