Warner Music Group, or WMG for short, is like a super-big music family. It's one of the three biggest music companies in the whole world! It started a long, long time ago, but it became its own special company in 2004. Before that, it was part of an even bigger company that also made movies and TV shows. Now, WMG is a company that lots of people own a little piece of, like sharing a big toy!

WMG used to be owned by a giant company called Time Warner. But in 2004, it became its own company, and for a while, people could buy tiny pieces of it on a special stock market.
