Walter Orthmann

Imagine staying at the same school for your whole life, from kindergarten to when you're a grown-up! Walter Orthmann did something like that, but with a job. He started working at a company that makes clothes, called ReneauxView, way back in 1938.

That's even before your grandparents were born! He worked there for so, so long, it's like he was part of the furniture. He was so good and so dedicated that he even got a special award for it!

Walter was born in Brazil, a big country with amazing beaches and yummy fruit. He started his job when he was just a teenager, helping to send out packages. He kept working and working, year after year.

He saw so many changes in the world, like new cars and phones, but he kept showing up for his job. It’s like he was a superhero of sticking with it, proving that hard work can last a very, very long time.

Walter's job lasted for an incredible 84 years! That's longer than most people live! He worked at the same place from when he was 16 until he was 100 years old.

He officially holds a Guinness World Record for having the longest career at one company. Think about how many different toys you’ve had in 84 years, or how many times you’ve changed your favorite color. Walter just kept going at his job, which is super impressive!

Walter Orthmann shows us that being dedicated to something can lead to amazing things. He didn't play a sport like soccer or basketball, but his dedication to his job was like a world record in itself. He proved that you can be a star by being reliable and working hard for a super long time. He’s an inspiration to everyone, showing that commitment is a powerful thing.
