Walrus

These amazing animals call the Arctic Ocean home, which means they live in very cold places like the waters around Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Norway, and Russia. They love to hang out on sea ice, which is like a floating platform for them. When the ice melts in the summer, they sometimes gather on land near the coast.

Walruses are picky eaters, but they really love to slurp up clams! They use their sensitive whiskers, which are like super-powered feelers, to find clams buried in the seafloor. Once they find a tasty treat, they use their powerful lips to suck the clam right out of its shell.

They also eat other yummy things like snails, worms, and sometimes even other sea creatures. They are carnivores, meaning they eat meat.
