Key Facts
Meet the Super Builders!
Transport for NSW, or TfNSW for short, is like a giant helper for the whole state of New South Wales. They are in charge of making sure you can get to school, visit your grandparents, or go to the park! They build new roads so cars can drive smoothly and fix old ones.
They also make sure the trains and buses are running on time, so you don't have to wait too long. It's a big job, but they do it to help everyone travel safely and easily.
What Do They Build and Fix?
TfNSW is busy building and looking after lots of things! They build roads that are super long, sometimes as long as 100 school buses parked end-to-end! They also make sure the roads are safe for everyone, like making sure the lines are painted clearly and the traffic lights are working.
And guess what? They even help with boats on the water and making sure cars and drivers have the right papers. They are like the ultimate caretakers of how people move around!
A Team for Everyone!
This amazing team started in 2011, which is not too long ago! Before that, different groups did different jobs. But now, TfNSW brings everyone together to work on all the transport stuff.
They listen to special people called Ministers, who are like the bosses of transport. These Ministers then tell the big boss of the state what's happening. It's all about making sure New South Wales has the best ways to travel for everyone, from tiny babies to grown-ups.
Getting Around Made Easy!
Think about all the ways you travel: maybe by car, bus, train, or even a ferry! TfNSW helps make all of these possible and better. They are always thinking of new ways to make your journeys quicker and more fun.
They want to build a New South Wales where getting from one place to another is super simple and safe. So next time you're on a bus or train, remember TfNSW is working hard behind the scenes!
