Trafford Park: A Giant Land of Factories!

Trafford Park is like a special island in England, near a big city called Manchester. It's surrounded by water, like a moat around a castle! This water is from two canals, which are like long, skinny rivers made by people. It's not too far from the city centre, so it's easy to get to.

A long, long time ago, this land belonged to a family called the Trafford family. Then, someone had a brilliant idea to build a place for lots of factories. It was the very first place in the whole world planned just for factories! It became so big, it was the largest in Europe for over 100 years!

This park is a super-worker! During big wars, it made important parts for airplanes that helped keep people safe. It even made engines for planes called Spitfires and Lancasters. At its busiest, it was like a whole city of workers, with more people than live in some towns!

Before it was full of factories, people used to play games like golf and polo here. Imagine playing on a huge field! Later, it became a busy place for making things. Now, even though some factories have moved, lots of new companies are there, making it a busy place again!
