Key Facts
Meet the Mighty Machine!
Imagine a super-strong vehicle that's bigger than a school bus and can pull really heavy things. That's a tractor! Tractors are like the workhorses of farms. They have big, chunky tires that help them grip the ground, even when it's muddy. They don't drive super fast, but they have tons of power to do important jobs. Think of them as the ultimate farm helpers, ready to get to work!
Where Did Tractors Come From?
Long, long ago, farmers used strong animals like horses and oxen to pull plows and wagons. But these animals got tired! So, clever people invented machines that could do the work.
The first tractors were powered by steam, which was like a big kettle making power. Later, they got engines that used gasoline, just like cars, but much bigger and stronger. These new tractors made farming much easier and faster!
Why Tractors Rule the Farm!
Tractors are super important because they help farmers grow all the yummy food we eat! They can pull giant plows to prepare the soil for planting seeds. They can also pull machines that plant the seeds, and then later, machines that harvest the crops like wheat or corn. Without tractors, farming would take a lot longer and be much harder work for people.
Tractor's Amazing Superpowers!
Tractors have special powers! Their biggest power is PULLING. They can pull heavy equipment like plows, seeders, and harvesters.
They also have a special arm in the back called a 'hitch' that can lift and carry things. Some tractors can even power other machines using a spinning rod called a PTO (Power Take-Off). This means one tractor can do many different jobs on the farm, making it a true multi-tasker!
