Two amazing teams, one from the AFC and one from the NFC, play their hearts out to see who is the best. The winning team gets a super cool trophy named after a famous coach. It's a day filled with amazing plays, cheering crowds, and lots of fun!

How Did It All Start?

A long, long time ago, there were two football leagues, the NFL and the AFL. They decided to have a big game to see which league had the best players. This game was called the AFL–NFL World Championship Game.

Later, the leagues joined together, and the game got its famous name, the Super Bowl! The first Super Bowl was played way back in 1967. Now, it's a huge event that everyone looks forward to every single year.

Why Is It Such a Big Deal?

The Super Bowl isn't just about football; it's a giant party! Millions of people all over the world watch it on TV. It's one of the most watched TV shows every year!

During the game, there are super famous singers who perform at halftime, and companies show their funniest and most exciting commercials. People also love to eat yummy snacks like hot dogs and chips while they watch. It's a day for friends and family to get together!

Who Gets to Play?

Only the very best teams get to play in the Super Bowl. First, teams play games all season long. Then, the best teams from two big groups called conferences, the AFC and the NFC, play playoff games.

The winners of those playoff games become the champions of their conference. These two conference champions then get to face each other in the Super Bowl to decide the ultimate champion of the entire NFL!
