Skateboarding

Imagine a flat board with wheels underneath – that's a skateboard! It's like a super-fast scooter you stand on. Skaters use their feet to push off the ground and glide along. They can go fast, turn, and even jump! It's a fun way to travel and play, like a rolling adventure on four wheels.

Long, long ago, surfers in California wanted something to do when the waves were flat. So, they attached roller skate wheels to wooden boards! It was like surfing on land. This happened way back in the 1950s. Over time, skateboards got better and became a whole new sport.

Skateboarding is awesome because you can be creative! You can learn cool tricks like jumping over things or spinning in the air. It's also great exercise, helping you build strong legs and balance. Plus, you can meet new friends at skate parks and learn from each other.

A skateboard has a deck (the board part), trucks (the metal parts that hold the wheels), and wheels. When you push off, the wheels spin, making you move. To turn, you lean your body! Doing tricks involves lifting the board, flipping it, or jumping with it. It takes practice, but it’s super rewarding!
