Imagine a brave soldier named Shaitan Singh! He was a Major in the Indian Army, which is like being a captain of a team. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1924, in a place called Jodhpur. Shaitan Singh loved his country and joined the army to help protect it. He was a very important person because he was awarded a special medal for being incredibly brave!

The Big Battle Adventure!

Shaitan Singh was in a super tough situation during a big fight called the 1962 Sino-Indian War. He was in charge of a group of soldiers at a place called Rezang La. There were way more enemy soldiers than his team, like trying to play soccer against a whole other school!

But Shaitan Singh didn't give up. He ran between his soldiers, cheering them on and making sure they were safe and fighting bravely.

A Medal for Courage!

Because Shaitan Singh was so brave and helped his soldiers so much, he received the highest award for courage in India. It's called the Param Vir Chakra. It's like getting the biggest gold star ever for being the bravest! Sadly, he received this award after he passed away, but it shows everyone how amazing he was. His bravery is remembered forever!
