Senate Square (Saint Petersburg)

Senate Square is like a huge, open-air room in the city of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It's a special place where important buildings stand all around it. Think of it like the biggest playground you've ever seen, but instead of swings, there are grand buildings and a giant statue!

It's right next to a big river called the Neva. This square has had different names over the years, like Peter's Square and Decembrists' Square, before becoming Senate Square again.

The most famous thing in Senate Square is a gigantic statue of a horse with a man riding it. This is the Bronze Horseman, and it honors Peter the Great, a very important leader from a long time ago. The statue is so big, it looks like it could be taller than a three-story building!

It stands on a huge rock that's even bigger than a car. This statue has been here for hundreds of years, watching over the square.
