He didn't play football for the Buffalo Bills himself, but he became a coach. Coaches are like the captains of the team, but they stand on the sidelines and tell everyone what to do to win. Sean started coaching in the big leagues, the NFL, way back in 2001.

Before Sean McDermott became the head coach, the Buffalo Bills hadn't been to the playoffs for a super long time, like since the year 1999! That's like waiting for your birthday for many, many years. But when Sean took over in 2017, he changed everything!

He helped the team get so good that they made it to the playoffs in his very first year. That was a HUGE deal! It was like the team woke up from a long nap and started playing amazing football.

Sean McDermott is really good at making teams play their best. Before he came to Buffalo, he was a coach for another team called the Carolina Panthers. With them, he even went to the Super Bowl, which is the biggest game in American football!

It's like going to the championship game in your favorite sport. He's led the Bills to the playoffs many times since he started, and they've even won their division, which means they were the best team in their group for five years in a row! Wow!
