Sea Snakes: The Ocean's Slithery Stars!

Sea snakes are super cool reptiles that have made their homes in the warm, salty oceans! You can find them in places like the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, often near coastlines and coral reefs. They love to swim around in shallow waters where there are lots of yummy fish to eat.

Unlike land snakes, sea snakes can't live on land for very long because their skin needs to stay wet. They are truly creatures of the sea!

These ocean dwellers are mostly carnivores, which means they love to eat meat! Their favorite meals are fish and eels. Some sea snakes have special venom that helps them catch their slippery prey. Don't worry, though, most sea snakes are not aggressive towards people and prefer to avoid us. They are more interested in their underwater snacks!

Even though they live in the ocean, sea snakes are still reptiles and need to breathe air, just like you! They have lungs and have to come up to the surface to take gulps of air. But here's a super cool trick: they can absorb oxygen through their skin! This helps them stay underwater for longer periods while they hunt for food or hide from bigger ocean animals.
