Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association

The Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association, or SSTA for short, is like a big team for teachers in Scotland who teach older kids, like those in high school! They are the second biggest team of teachers in Scotland. They formed their team because they wanted to make sure the voices of teachers who help teenagers were heard just as much as teachers who help younger kids.

A long time ago, some teachers felt that the teachers who helped the littlest kids in school had a lot of say in how things were run. So, teachers who worked with teenagers decided to create their own special group. This way, they could focus on all the unique things that happen when teaching older students and make sure their ideas were important too!

This team is super important because they help make sure that teachers have the best tools and support to teach teenagers. They talk about what's working well and what could be better in schools. It's like making sure every student gets the best possible education to learn and grow into amazing adults!

Guess what? The SSTA is also part of an even bigger, worldwide team called Education International! This means they can share ideas and learn from teachers all over the planet. It's like having pen pals who are also teachers, but instead of writing letters, they work together to make learning awesome everywhere!
