Meet the Lincolnshire Soldiers!

The Royal Lincolnshire Regiment was like a special team of soldiers who served England for a very long time. They started way back in 1685, which is older than your grandparents' grandparents! They were like the protectors of the Lincolnshire area, a place in England. Over the years, they changed their name a few times, but they always kept their brave spirit and connection to Lincolnshire.

A Long, Long Time Ago!

This regiment began its journey in 1685. At first, it was called the Earl of Bath's Regiment, named after its first leader. Later, in 1751, they got a number, like 10th Regiment of Foot. Then, in 1881, they became the Lincolnshire Regiment because they recruited soldiers from the county of Lincolnshire. They were like a famous club for people from that area who wanted to be soldiers.

Why They Were Super Important!

These soldiers were important because they helped keep England safe. They were part of the British Army, which is like a big team that protects the country. The Royal Lincolnshire Regiment fought in many important moments in history. Their bravery and dedication meant they were a strong part of England's story for centuries, showing courage and duty.

Still Remembered Today!

Even though the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment doesn't exist as its own team anymore, its spirit lives on! In 1960, they joined with another regiment. Today, a part of a new army team called the Royal Anglian Regiment, called 'A' Company, keeps the traditions and memories of the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment alive. They are a reminder of all the brave soldiers who served.
