Ray Lewis

Imagine a superhero on a football field! That was Ray Lewis. He played a super important job called a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens for 17 whole years. That's longer than you've been in school! He was like the captain of the defense, always ready to stop the other team from scoring. He was so good, people still talk about him today as one of the best ever!

Ray Lewis started his amazing career playing for the Miami Hurricanes in college. Then, in 1996, the Baltimore Ravens picked him to play for their brand-new team. He was so good right away that he led the team in tackles, which means he stopped the most players from running! He did this for 14 years! He even won two Super Bowls, which is like winning the biggest championship in football.

Ray Lewis had incredible skills. He was super strong and super fast, and he knew exactly where to be on the field. He was like a detective, figuring out the other team's plays before they even happened! He won a special award called Defensive Player of the Year not once, but twice! That's like winning the 'Best Defender' award two times in a row.

When Ray Lewis finally stopped playing football, everyone knew he was a legend. He was so amazing that he got into the Pro Football Hall of Fame the very first time he was nominated. That's a super big honor! He made so many tackles, more than almost anyone ever, and he inspired his teammates to play their very best. He's a true football hero!
