Rats: The Super Survivors!

Because they can live in so many different places, from cold snowy lands to warm sunny spots, they are called 'cosmopolitan'. This means they are found all around the world!

Rats are not picky eaters at all! They will eat almost anything they can find. This makes them 'omnivores'. They love to munch on grains, seeds, fruits, and vegetables. But they also enjoy insects, eggs, and even small bits of meat if they can find them. In cities, they might find leftovers from people's meals. Their strong sense of smell helps them sniff out tasty treats from far away.

Rats are known for being really good at surviving. They can have lots of babies, and their babies grow up fast. This helps their families grow quickly. They are also very quick and can squeeze into tiny spaces to escape danger. For a small animal, a rat can live for about 1 to 2 years in the wild, but sometimes even longer if they are kept safe as pets.
