Raphael

Imagine a super-talented artist named Raphael who lived hundreds of years ago! He was one of the most famous painters and builders of his time, like a superhero of art. His paintings were so beautiful and clear, people loved them. He was so good that he's often talked about with other famous artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Raphael was born in a small, fancy city called Urbino. His dad was also an artist who painted for the ruler of the city. When Raphael was only eleven, his dad passed away, and he had to help run the family art workshop.

He learned a lot from other artists, becoming a master by the time he was 15! Later, he moved to Rome, a big city, to paint for the Pope himself in the Vatican Palace. That's like getting a job painting for the most important person in the whole country!

Raphael was a super-fast and productive artist, even though he died young at 37. He had a huge workshop with lots of helpers, like a busy factory making art! His most famous painting is called 'The School of Athens,' which is a giant picture showing lots of smart people thinking and talking.

It’s so big, it fills a whole room in the Vatican! His art was so admired that other artists copied his style for a long, long time.

Raphael painted many beautiful pictures, but some of his most famous works are in the Vatican City. He painted huge wall paintings called frescoes in rooms called the Raphael Rooms.
