Rajaram I

Imagine a king named Rajaram I! He was the third king, or Chhatrapati, of the Maratha Kingdom. That means he was in charge of a whole land!

He became king when he was 19 years old, which is like being in middle school. He ruled for about 10 years, from 1689 until he was 30 years old. He was the younger brother of the previous king, Sambhaji.

Rajaram I had a very important job: protecting his kingdom.

Rajaram I's time as king was super exciting, but also very tough! A powerful group called the Mughals wanted to take over his kingdom. So, Rajaram I had to be very brave and fight them. It was like a never-ending game of tag where he had to keep his kingdom safe. He spent his whole reign trying to defend his people and his land from these invaders. He was a true protector!

Rajaram I was known for his courage. Even though the Mughals were strong, he never gave up. He kept fighting to protect his kingdom. He was also very clever and smart. He knew how to lead his soldiers and make good plans. His bravery inspired everyone around him. He showed everyone that even when things are hard, you can still be strong and fight for what you believe in.

When Rajaram I sadly passed away, his son, Shivaji II, became the next king. But Shivaji II was just a baby! So, his mom, Queen Tarabai, stepped in to help rule. She was like a super-mom regent, making sure the kingdom stayed safe until Shivaji II was old enough to rule himself. Rajaram I's legacy of bravery continued through his family.
