Key Facts
Norway: Land of Fjords and Northern Lights!
Norway is a super cool country shaped like a long, skinny dragon! It has tall mountains, deep blue fjords (that's like a long, skinny sea that goes way inland!), and sometimes, if you're lucky, you can see the magical Northern Lights dancing in the sky. It's a place with lots of nature, from snowy peaks to rocky coastlines.
The Prime Minister is like the captain of this amazing country, making sure everything runs smoothly.
Who's the Boss of Norway?
The Prime Minister is the head of Norway's government. Think of them like the principal of a big school, but instead of students, they lead the whole country! They work with a team called the Cabinet, who are like the vice-principals, each in charge of different important jobs like schools or roads. They have to make sure everyone in Norway is happy and that the country is doing well.
Making Big Decisions!
The Prime Minister and their team make important choices for Norway. They have to listen to the people and also to the Parliament, which is like a big meeting where people talk about what's best for the country. If the Prime Minister doesn't do a good job, or if the Parliament doesn't agree with them, they have to step down. It's a big responsibility!
Norway's Leaders Through Time
Norway has had leaders for a very long time, but the job of Prime Minister as we know it is newer. The country has a special rulebook called a constitution, written way back in 1814. The Prime Minister is chosen based on who the people in Parliament support.
Sometimes the leader of the biggest team in Parliament becomes the Prime Minister, or they lead a team made of a few different groups working together.
