Porcelain Palace
Key Facts
Welcome to the Toilet Kingdom!
Get ready to be amazed by the Porcelain Palace! It's not a place for kings and queens, but for… well, everyone! This super-duper big building is actually a public toilet complex. It's located in an amusement park in a city called Chongqing in China. Think of it as a giant, colorful building where you can find lots and lots of toilets and sinks.
A Palace Fit for a Pharaoh?
The outside of the Porcelain Palace looks like something from ancient Egypt, with cool designs and shapes. But that's not all! Another part of the building looks like it was designed by a famous architect from Spain, Antoni Gaudi. He loved making buildings that looked like they were made of candy or were growing out of the ground. It's like a mix of different amazing places all in one!
The World's Biggest Toilet Stop!
This place is HUGE! It has more than 1,000 toilets and sinks inside. That's more toilets than in your whole school, maybe even more than in all the schools in your town! It's so big that it's trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records. The building itself is as big as a few basketball courts put together!
More Than Just Toilets!
While it's a place for toilets, the Porcelain Palace was also meant to be decorated with fun art. However, some of the art was taken away because people thought it was a bit too silly or not appropriate. It's a place that shows how different cultures can inspire buildings, even when it's a building for something as everyday as using the bathroom!
