Polish–Soviet War

Once upon a time, after a big world war, Poland and a new country called the Soviet Union started a big fight. Poland wanted to be its own country and keep its land, while the Soviet Union wanted to spread its ideas and take over more places. It was like two kids arguing over who gets to play with a special toy.

This war happened a long, long time ago, from 1919 to 1921. It was a very important time for both countries!

One of the most exciting parts of the war was a huge battle near a city called Warsaw. The Soviet army was very strong and was marching towards Warsaw, like a big wave coming to shore. But the Polish army, led by a brave general named Józef Piłsudski, surprised them!

They fought back with all their might and managed to push the Soviet army away. This victory was super important because it saved Poland!

After a lot of fighting, both sides got tired. They decided to stop and make peace. They signed a treaty, which is like a promise to be friends and not fight anymore. Poland got to keep most of its land, and the Soviet Union didn't spread as far as it wanted to. This war helped shape what Poland and the Soviet Union looked like for many years to come.

This war might seem like a long time ago, but it's important because it shows how countries decide where their borders are and how they want to live. It was a big moment for Poland to show it was a strong, independent country. It also showed that sometimes, even when things look tough, people can fight for what they believe in and win!
