Imagine a cool gray box that sat in your living room and let you play awesome video games. That was the PlayStation! They worked really hard to make it special, especially by making the games look super cool with 3D shapes, like characters jumping out at you. It was like building with LEGOs, but on the screen!

The PlayStation was famous for having SO many fun games. You could race cars in Gran Turismo, go on adventures with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, or even solve mysteries with Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. These games were so popular that people still remember them today! It was like having a giant library of exciting stories and challenges right in your home.

This game box was a big deal because it was affordable and had games for everyone. It helped start a new way of playing games using discs, which were like shiny CDs. The PlayStation was so successful that it sold over 100 million of these game boxes! It was the start of Sony becoming a huge name in video games, leading to even more cool PlayStation machines later on.
