It was so amazing that people thought it was magical, like a star falling to Earth. The name 'phosphorus' even comes from an old Greek word for 'light bearer' because of this glow!

Phosphorus is like a superhero for your body! It's a super important part of your bones and teeth, making them strong. It's also inside every single cell in your body, helping them do their jobs. Plants need phosphorus to grow big and strong, which is why farmers use special fertilizers made with phosphorus to help grow the food we eat. You might not see pure phosphorus, but you see its helpers everywhere! Red phosphorus is used on the side of matchboxes, so when you strike a match, it lights up. It's also used to help stop things from catching fire too easily.
