Philibert I, Duke of Savoy

Philibert I was a duke, which is like a super-important leader of a special land called Savoy. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1465. His nickname was 'the Hunter' because he probably loved exploring the forests and looking for animals. He became the duke when he was just a little boy, only seven years old! That's like being the boss of your whole school when you're still in first grade.

When Philibert was a young duke, some grown-ups who were supposed to help him actually tried to take him away! They held him in a place called Turin. But don't worry, the King of France, Louis XI, heard about it and helped get Philibert back. It was like a real-life adventure story, but for a duke!

Philibert was the Duke of Savoy for about ten years. He was supposed to get married to a princess named Bianca Maria Sforza, but they didn't have any children. Sadly, Philibert got sick with a lung problem called tuberculosis and passed away when he was only 17 years old. That's younger than most teenagers finish high school!

After Philibert's short time as duke, his younger brother, Charles, became the next leader of Savoy. Even though Philibert's time as duke was short, he was still an important part of Savoy's story. He was a duke, a hunter, and the star of a surprising adventure!
