Parvati

Parvati is a super important goddess in Hinduism! She's known as the goddess of power, love, and being a great mom. Sometimes she's called Uma or Gauri. Imagine her as a shining star, full of warmth and strength. She's like the best friend and protector for many people. She is also part of a special group of three goddesses, like a superhero team!

Parvati is the wife of the god Shiva. Long ago, Shiva's first wife, Sati, was very sad and gave up her body. Parvati is like a new beginning, a reincarnation of Sati. Her parents are the king of the mountains, Himavan, and his wife Mena. They wanted Parvati to help Shiva, who liked to live alone, to be happy and married. So, Parvati came to bring joy and balance to the world!

Parvati is like the universe's battery! She has amazing energy called 'Shakti'. This energy makes everything happen, from growing plants to making people feel love. Shiva needs her energy to be complete. She is also the wonderful mother of two famous gods, Ganesha (the one with the elephant head!) and Kartikeya. She shows us how important mothers and strong women are.

You can find statues and pictures of Parvati in temples all over India and other countries. She is often shown with Shiva. Sometimes, she is represented by a special symbol that looks like a flower bud, called a yoni. This symbol shows her connection to creation and life. She is a very beloved goddess, and her stories are told for thousands of years!
