It's usually as wide as a parking spot and sticks out from the sidewalk. Think of it as a little outdoor room for people to enjoy right in the middle of the city. It’s a fun way to make streets more interesting for everyone walking by.

Parklets are a newer idea, starting in the early 2000s. People wanted more green spaces and places to relax in busy cities. Instead of just having cars parked, they thought, 'Why not put a little park here?' The first ones were like experiments, testing out how people would use these new street spaces.

Now, many cities around the world have them, and they are becoming more and more popular as people see how great they are.
