Operation Spiderweb

Operation Spiderweb was a super secret mission that happened on June 1, 2025. It was like a surprise party, but with drones! The Security Service of Ukraine used these special flying machines to do something important deep inside Russia.

They wanted to reach places that were very, very far away. It was a big deal because it was the biggest drone attack on Russian air bases at that time in the war.

Think of it like hiding toys in a big truck! The people doing the mission hid lots of drones inside trucks. Then, they drove the trucks into Russia and launched the drones from there. It was a clever way to surprise everyone! They used a whopping 117 drones, which is more than all the students in a big school! These drones flew to different air bases to do their job.

One of the most amazing things about Operation Spiderweb is how far the drones traveled. One drone went all the way to a place called Belaya Air Base. This base is super, super far from Ukraine, like driving from your house to another country and then some! It's about 4,300 kilometers away. That's like driving across the United States almost three times!

This mission was special because it showed how clever and far-reaching these drone attacks could be. It was the largest drone attack on Russian air bases up to that point. It happened in five different places, all spread out over a huge area. This meant the surprise was felt in many spots, making it a very memorable operation.
