He plays in a big league where the best players in the world compete. He was born a long time ago, in 1998, and he's from a sunny place called the Dominican Republic. He's really good at hitting the ball far and running around the bases super quickly!

Oneil Cruz grew up in the Dominican Republic, which is a beautiful country with warm weather and lots of baseball players. Many amazing baseball stars come from this island. He learned to play baseball there and got really good.

Then, he got a chance to play in America for a big team. It's like going from your local playground to a giant stadium where thousands of people watch you play. He started playing in the big leagues in 2021.

Oneil Cruz has a special talent: he's incredibly fast! He can steal bases, which means he runs to the next base while the other team isn't expecting it.
