Omsk

Omsk is a super big city way, way over in Siberia, which is a huge part of Russia. It's like being at the very center of a giant country! It sits where two big rivers, the Irtysh and the Om, hug each other. The weather there can be really cold in the winter, with lots of snow, and warm in the summer. It's a long way from oceans, so it feels very landlocked.

Omsk wasn't always a big city. It started as a small fort a long, long time ago, in 1716. It was built to help protect the area. Over many years, more and more people came to live there, and it grew into the city it is today. It was an important stop for people traveling across Siberia, like a busy rest stop on a very long road trip!

Lots of people in Omsk work in factories that make things like airplanes and oil products. They also work in shops and offices, just like in many other cities. Because it's a big city, there are many schools where kids learn all sorts of cool things. People also enjoy going to theaters and museums to see plays and learn about history.
