New Sudan (territory)

New Sudan isn't a country you can find on most maps. It's a special name for areas in a big country called Sudan. Think of it like a special playground area that a certain group of friends is in charge of. It's located in Africa, a huge continent with lots of different countries and amazing animals. This area is part of Sudan, which is a really big country in Northeast Africa.

This special area is called 'New Sudan' by a group of people called the Sudan People's Liberation Movement–North. They are like the leaders of this particular part of Sudan. They are in charge because of a big disagreement, kind of like when kids argue over who gets to play with a toy. They have their own way of doing things in this part of the country.

Because there's a big disagreement, sometimes things can be tough in New Sudan. It's part of a bigger problem called a civil war in Sudan. This means people within the same country are having a conflict. It's like if everyone in your school started arguing and couldn't agree on the rules anymore. People are trying to figure out how to live peacefully together.

Even though New Sudan isn't a country like Egypt or France, it's important to learn about it. It helps us understand that sometimes places have special names because of big events happening there.
