Nasir al-Din al-Tusi

Imagine a place called Tus, in a country called Persia, which is now Iran! That's where Nasir al-Din al-Tusi was born a super long time ago, in the year 1201. It was a busy place with lots of smart people. Tus was known for its thinkers and builders. Nasir loved learning and exploring new ideas, just like you might explore your backyard!

Nasir was like a superhero of science and math! He wrote books about so many things, like how to build amazing structures and how stars move across the sky. He even invented new ways to understand math, especially something called trigonometry, which helps us measure distances and angles. He was so good that people still talk about his discoveries today!

One of Nasir's biggest talents was understanding how planets move. He created super accurate charts of where the planets would be in the sky. He also thought up new ways to imagine the planets moving, which was different from what other scientists believed.

His ideas were so clever that some people think he might have even helped inspire scientists much, much later who figured out that Earth goes around the Sun!

Nasir al-Din al-Tusi was one of the most important scientists of his time. He didn't just study one thing; he was good at medicine, philosophy, and even building! His work in math, especially trigonometry, was so groundbreaking that he's often called the 'father' of it.
