Mürren: A Magical Mountain Village!

Mürren is a super special village tucked away high in the Swiss Alps mountains. It sits so high, it's like being on top of a giant playground slide, at 1,638 meters (that's over 5,000 feet!). From Mürren, you can see three of the most famous mountains in Switzerland: the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.

Guess what? You can't drive a car to Mürren! It's a car-free village.

Even though only about 450 people live in Mürren all year round, it's a very popular place for tourists! In the summer and winter, lots of people come to visit. There are enough hotel beds for 2,000 guests, which is way more than the people who live there! This means the village is buzzing with excitement during the busy seasons, with people enjoying skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer.

Mürren is a real village where people live and work. It has its own school, so the children who live there can learn right in their beautiful mountain home. There are also two churches, one for Reformed Christians and one for Roman Catholics, showing that people of different faiths live together. It’s a cozy community where everyone knows each other, high above the clouds.
