Monagas

Monagas is a special place in Venezuela, a country far away! It's like a big puzzle piece surrounded by other pieces. To the north, it touches the Sucre State.

To the west and south, it's next to Anzoátegui State. To the south, it meets Bolívar State. And to the east, it borders Delta Amacuro State.

It even has a little bit of the big, blue Paria Gulf on its northeast side. It's a land full of wonders waiting to be explored!

Monagas is a super big place, much bigger than your school playground! It covers an area of 28,900 square kilometers. That's like fitting over 4,000 soccer fields into one giant space! It's home to lots of people, about 905,443, which is more people than live in many big cities. The main city, where everyone gathers, is called Maturín. It's a busy and exciting place!

Monagas got its name from two very important brothers who used to be presidents of Venezuela: José Tadeo Monagas and José Gregorio Monagas. José Tadeo Monagas was even born in Monagas! They were leaders who helped shape the country. So, when you hear the name Monagas, remember these two brothers who were so special to this land.

In Monagas, people work hard and have fun! They have a special city called Maturín, which is the capital. This is where the government works and where many people live. The people of Monagas speak Spanish, just like in many other places in Venezuela. They have their own unique ways of living and celebrating, making Monagas a vibrant and interesting place to be!
